Privacy Policy — Namaz Vaktim

Namaz Vaktim shows Islamic prayer times and the direction of the Qibla. This page explains what the app touches — and what it does not.
Summary
- No account. You never sign up or sign in.
- No tracking. The app contains no advertising network, no analytics and no crash reporting.
- No personal data collected. Your name, email, phone number and device identifiers are never sent anywhere.
- Your location stays on your device. Your coordinates are never sent to a server.
Data kept on your device
The following is stored on your phone only and is never transmitted:
- Your chosen location, language, theme and notification preferences
- The downloaded prayer time table and Hijri calendar data
- The list of scheduled notifications and the home screen widget’s data
Deleting the app deletes all of it.
Location
Location permission is optional. If you grant it, your location is used on the device to:
- Compute the direction of the Qibla
- Find and suggest the nearest city
- Calculate prayer times when no official table is available
Location is read once while you use the app; there is no background location tracking. Your coordinates are never sent over the internet.
If you decline, you can pick a city manually and the app keeps working.
The only thing sent over the internet
The app goes online solely to download the prayer time table. This happens at most twice a year: the table for the year you need is fetched once and stored on the device. There is no daily polling, no launch ping and no background traffic.
A request contains exactly:
- The identifier of the district you selected and the year (for prayer times)
- The year (for the Hijri calendar)
- An anonymous application key that is identical for every user
Not sent: coordinates, device identifiers, user identifiers, cookies, advertising identifiers.
To be explicit: the district identifier is itself location information. It is coarse — it points to your district, not your street — but it is location, and it does leave your device. It is not linked to any identity, it is not stored, and no profile is built from it.
Also, as with any request made over the internet, your IP address is visible to the infrastructure serving the response. This is technically unavoidable. We do not link it to a user, store it, or use it.
Sharing
The app lets you share the verse or hadith of the day as an image card. This happens only when you start it: the image is rendered on your device and handed to the operating system’s share sheet. You choose which app receives it; from that moment the receiving app’s own data practices apply. Namaz Vaktim sends nothing to any server during this, and it does not know or record what you shared or with whom.
The verse and hadith texts on the cards ship inside the app; they are not downloaded from the internet.
Services used
- Supabase — hosts the prayer time table. Read-only; no user data is ever written.
- Google Play / App Store — distribution. Their own data practices apply and are outside our control.
No other third-party SDK is used.

Children
The app collects no personal data from anyone, children included.
Selling your data
Nothing is sold, rented or shared. There is nothing collected to sell.
Changes
If this policy changes, the effective date is updated and the change ships with an app update.
